Use this pattern to try the techniques in this tutorial:

Sew Simple Reversible Sling Bag

: Step 31: A “2 in 1” bag for young and old.

: Step 26: The embroidery is optional, but that added detail finishes your project beautifully. An embroidery design is included in this design set.

: Step 25: This sling bag is approx 12″ x 13″ or 30cm x 33cm. Remember you can enlarge the individual panels of your pattern to make a bigger bag.

: Step 24: Your Reversible Sling Bag. Choose a beautiful contrast fabric for a fabulous look!

: Step 23: Once your Top Stitching is done your reversible Bag is complete!

: Step 22: Do the same with both “armholes”

: Step 21: Fold the raw edges of the “armholes” in a 1/4″ and pin. Press and baste together. Topstitch all along the “armholes”

: Step 20: Top Stitch the “neckline”

: Step 19: Close up look

: Step 18: Press and baste the “neckline”.

: Step 17: Turn the bag right side out

: Step 16: Sew with a 1/4″ seam allowance along the neckline of the bag.

: Step 15: Line up the seams along the “neckline” and pin.

: Step 14: Insert the contrast panel inside the plain panel as indicated here.

: Step 13: Turn contrast panel right side out

: Step 12: Do not sew the area between these pins.

: Step 11: Close up look.

: Step 10: Pin the area to be stitched

: Step 9: The area between the top of the shoulder and this pin should be left open.

: Step 8: Do the same with the contrast panels

: Step 7: Close up look.

: Step 6: With the rights side facing each other (to the inside), pin the top of the “shoulders” and along the bottom curve. Use the markings between panel 1&2 as well as the markings between panel 4&5.

: Step 5: Embroider the design. A complete color chart is included in your download.

: Step 4: Pin the pattern to the fabric and cut 2 of the plain fabric and 2 of the contrast fabric, a 1/4″seam allowance is included

: Step 3: Cut out the pattern. You`ll also need the fabric of choice and a contrast fabric.

: Step 2: Once printed you will be able to see the guides and coordinates so the printed sheets can be laid out easily and accurately. Secure the panels with scotch tape.

: Step 1: Print all the pages in the PDF named “SEWING”.
