Q: What stabilizer should I use for Applique designs?
A: You have two good options:
Water-Soluble Stabilizer (easier for beginners) After stitching, simply trim away the excess stabilizer, then gently run a damp Q-tip along the edges. The stabilizer dissolves away, leaving you with smooth, clean satin edges.
Cut-Away Stabilizer (recommended) This gives the nicest finish. After stitching, carefully trim away the stabilizer close to your satin stitches—just be careful not to snip the stitching itself. It takes a little practice, but you'll get the hang of it quickly.
We suggest trying both methods to see which you prefer. Everyone has their favorite!
