Customer project: Angela's Large Shopping Tote from the Burgeon Seamless Combo

My friend Angela surprised me with a photo of her magnificent Large Shopping Tote she created from my Burgeon Seamless Combo. Needless to say I am speechless.

Well done Angela, you created a stunning Large Tote Bag and I am sure some folks are going to place orders with you to make them a shopping tote too. lol. Thank you so much for the photo too. We are all sharing your joy with this delightful project. Your friend, Annemarie.

Angela said: "Please note that I am not great at sewing but this is my attempt at making a large shopping tote (it is 16" wide x 16" height x 8" deep). Two 7.87x 7.87 panels stitched ITH at one time using the seamless Burgeon pattern ASH3418 . The material was heavy canvas with a light canvas lining using the typical ASAH tote instructions.. My machine did struggle a bit particularly when it came to fixing the handles (note to self to attach handles before sewing the bag together). Love the seamless design."

I’d like to add to the “note to self” sewing the handles to the panels before sewing them together: make the handles a full loop and sew them to the bottom panel and then to the bottom itself (even if that had to be done by hand). That would spread any strain due to overweight items and pulling the beautiful bag apart.
